Documents provided
Site A has hosted 340 displaced households since 2022 on private land. The owner had given his verbal consent. He died in July; his heir demands that all households leave "within 15 days" and threatens to call in the gendarmerie. The mayor proposes land 9 km away, with no water point or school. The households have no written document.
Opinion of the partner lawyer: an owner cannot have occupants evicted by the police without a court decision or other enforceable title; a verbal order is not one. The heir can bring the matter before the court. Mediation and a written agreement for a fixed term can be considered.

Common mistakes that cost marks
- Promising the households that they will be able to stay.
- Citing articles of national law without having checked them.
- Treating 340 households as 340 individual files.
- Accepting a relocation site without water or services.
- Issuing documents that the NGO has no authority to produce.
