Common mistakes that cost marks
- Calculating employer contributions on the base salary instead of the gross salary including the allowance.
- Forgetting that the announced elimination threshold applies before ranking.
- Recruiting new staff at a higher step without seeing the effect on employees in post.
- Giving in to pressure from an authority in the name of access.
- Ruling out a candidate on an unverified allegation, or conversely ignoring the information.
