"We were coming back from Ippy, vehicle NGO-07, with Marie (monitoring officer) and Paul (community mobiliser). At 14:20, around km 35, a tree trunk across the road, four armed men, two with Kalashnikovs. They took the 3 phones and the XAF 85,000 from the field cash. No one injured, they let us go at 14:55. I think they are Peul from the camp nearby. Arrived at the base at 16:10. Marie is crying a lot." Note: the base rule limits cash carried to XAF 50,000 per mission.
