"Hello, I know the exemptions office well. For USD 2,000 in cash, your letter can come out in 3 days instead of 3 weeks. That's the custom here, all organisations do it. We can invoice it as file processing fees. Let me know quickly, the waiting list is long."

Common mistakes that cost marks
- Calculating transport needs by weight only when volume is the limiting factor.
- Forgetting the time needed to obtain the exemption letter in the lead time of imported items.
- Assuming that all the stock can be received in the warehouse at once.
- Accepting or tolerating a facilitation payment, even when presented as file processing fees.
- Systematically choosing the cheapest option without looking at the distribution schedule.
