Coverage: in blocks A and B, another organisation provides water trucking and network extension, funded until the end of next year, with a target of 17 L/person/day. In the host villages, there is no water actor; 2 of the 5 boreholes are out of order (pumps). The area health centre provides outpatient treatment of severe acute malnutrition, but there is no community screening in the host villages. A local women's association already runs mothers' groups in 4 of the 6 villages. Women and girls walk the distance to the water point, often before dawn.
Problem: "The humanitarian situation is very serious in the Bassikounou area. People lack everything. Our organisation has been present since 2013 and has extensive experience."
Activities: A1 rehabilitation of 2 boreholes and network extension in the 6 host villages (9,600 people); A2 water trucking in blocks A and B (14,400 people); A3 hygiene promotion (8,000 people); A4 malnutrition screening and referral (4,600 children). "Total beneficiaries: 36,600 people."
Expected result: "Improved living conditions." Indicator: "number of activities carried out".
Summary budget: staff USD 204,000; operating costs USD 90,000; activities USD 204,000; total USD 498,000. Partner: "a national NGO (to be confirmed)".

Mark each answer honestly against the panel's grid: the total is calculated automatically.
Common mistakes that cost marks
- Adding up the beneficiaries of each activity instead of counting distinct people.
- Keeping an activity that duplicates existing funding.
- Writing a needs analysis without the available data or centred on the organisation.
- Proposing an activity indicator as an outcome indicator.
- Exceeding the word limits.
- Announcing a partner that has not given its agreement.
